Scot Young Research (SYR) is a multinational company now based in the United States. The company is highly focused on innovation, safety, and the quality of equipment necessary to maintain cleanliness in businesses. SYR is the supplier for major restaurant chains such as McDonald's and Burger King, where heavily used floors and work surfaces must be kept at a high level of cleanliness. Scot Young Research cleaning equipment includes mop heads, buckets, brooms, brushes, trash cans, and much more. In 1954, Scot Young launched a window and floor cleaning business in Toronto, Canada, before returning to the UK to open the first branch in Glasgow and Manchester, followed by an expansion to London. 30 years later, manufacturing began and new products were introduced. 48 patents and 780 interconnected innovations give SYR a leading edge worldwide. Over fifteen years, SYR's innovation, invention, and development have progressed at such a pace that today, three manufacturing bases in Britain, the United States, and China all have identical tools, assembly facilities, and warehouses, with a mutual flow of innovation and technological development. SYR won the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in 2002, mainly due to its exchange system. This award recognizes outstanding performance in the design, production, marketing, and distribution of goods and services.
